INSPIRATION

For the coffee lover! We, of course, count ourselves among them. The history of these coffee bean cufflinks goes back to one of our owners days at George Brown College. She had decided to create a production line of coffee bean jewellery. Because there are no short cuts in school she had to carve her coffee beans from scratch out of wax rather than simply casting a real coffee bean. This coffee bean line has proved an enduring favourite with our clients!

The soft contrasts of the pink and purple shades in our pastel sapphire band make us sigh with satisfaction. It’s a very calming combination somehow.

A lot of people aren’t aware that sapphires can be many colours, not just blue. In fact, they pretty much come in every colour except red. Red sapphires are actually rubies. Sapphire and ruby are the same mineral which is corundum. Red corundum is called ruby and every other colour of corundum is called sapphire.

Is it boat season yet?

The inspiration from one of our owners: “For as long as I can remember my family have been boating on Lake Erie. Some of my fondest memories of childhood are on my uncle’s boats, swimming along side as they socialized and then watching the sun set on our trip home. And when I met my husband I found his family had a long tradition of boating as well. We now take our son out on the lake at the cottage and give him a chance to steer as our dog stands as our masthead.”

INSPIRATION

When you get home from work. When you had a tough day. When company comes over. When you need a pick me up. Put the kettle on. This pendant is made to order, please allow 3-6 weeks for delivery.

In this pendant we’ve used a “tea” coloured sapphire and set it within a white gold tea cup decorated with scrollwork. While we readily admit that we don’t usually have our tea in a china cups, we thought we’d elevate it to its most iconic form. In short, this pendant is a tribute to our long and happy relationship with tea. I suppose it symbolizes comfort to us.
